How has GvG measured up so far? :

In fact, my most favorite part of GvG was in how the mech theme was cleverly and creatively applied to each of the classes, all nine receiving mech-themed minions, spells, and weapons that correlate to their respective class.
So in case it wasn't obvious, I've been very pleased with GvG. I was excited for its release, I enjoy it now, and now I can hardly wait for the next expansion for the game.
The disappointing part of GvG has been the legendaries. Vol'Jin and Dr. Boom are strong, but the rest fall somewhere between mediocre to downright awful.
The RNG of this expansion doesn't bother me for the most part. I think finding ways to make the RNG work no matter which way the dice rolls deepens the strategy of the game. If the RNG can't be tamed, I don't think the card will be used competitively for very long. The exception is cards that draw random cards, primarily the Piloted cards and Unstable Portal. It's impossible to predict their results and they screw you over in the most out-of-left-field ways for both the person using it and the person playing against it. I've stopped running Unstable Portal because the losses it causes are infuriating and the wins it gives you are dumb. But most of the RNG in this expansion hasn't turned out to be nearly that bad. I think because the cards in this game are individually so simple, it needs stuff like this to be more dynamic.
Also, arena needed this new card set desperately. So much more variety.
EDIT: poor shaman, though
For example: last night the same Mage opponent in arena: landed a Keeper of the Grove off his Piloted Sky Golem & was able to Echo of Medivh it along with whatever else was on the board. He was then able to pull Tirion off his Unstable Portal followed by a Sneed's Old Shredder. Just a single game that irked me, half GvG RNG half completely outclassed in card quality via draft.
I also need to still add a lot of the GvG cards to my collection.
