Has a MTG meets miniature wargame like feel to it with all the cards available in the the box. No buying booster packs or monthly expansions to keep up. The game has 2 factions whos cards you can mix and match to build your deck. The Gobalos are a weird mix of Gremlins/Zerg and the Sapiens kinda feel like Terran.
The point of the game is play unit cards on your keep space on your side of the board then maneuver and battle them across the board to reach and attack your opponents keep space.
Rather than have something like like Land cards for resources, Bellum uses your handsize. At the beginning of your turn you tally up how many cards you have in your hand and that number is how many points you have to play cards and use abilities for that turn. This system creates a interesting and deep twist on hand management.
