Hey everyone! My name is Alchemixt in the Hearthstone world and this is one of my first video series in quite some time. The deck that I will be featuring is a Malygos Miracle Rogue. With the somewhat recent nerf to Leeroy Jenkins, this makes a Malygos version of Miracle Rogue much more viable than it was before. To begin, I will give some short explanations on my card choices followed by brief list of tips for each given matchup.
2x Backstab - Staple removal card that also enables efficient combos and cycling off of Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
2x Preparation - Does nothing by itself but really shines when used to chain card draws/spells with Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
2x Deadly Poison - Good removal and has nice synergy with Blade Flurry and Assassin's Blade.
2x Sinister Strike - Overall and awful card but necessary when playing a Malygos Version. Used to Cycle with Gadgetzan Auctioneer or to deal massive damage with Malygos.
2x Blade Flurry - Typical mass removal which is generally best when saving Deadly Poison on your weapon.
2x Eviscerate - Very efficient removal and sometimes used to land the finishing damage on your opponent.
2x Sap - Strong tempo card that can also be used to survive longer, push damage through a Taunt, or counter early plays like Innervate into something large.
2x Shiv - Kind of a weak card but it cycles in order to find Auctioneer quickly and scales well off Spell Power. Best if used to kill off early minions.
1x Bloodmage Thalnos - Very strong card in this deck. It does everything you want like draws cards, cheap to be used to combo with something such as Eviscerate on turn four, and provides Spell Power bonus.
1x Fan of Knives - Weaker mass removal but scales nicely off Spell Power and cycles through your deck. Best used with Preparation.
2x Earthen Ring Farseer - Nice early minion that also helps you soften up your opponent and keeps you alive longer.
1x Edwin VanCleef - Strong solid minion that can sometimes get out of hand for the opponent. Usually you shouldn't go all in on VanCleef unless its your last option.
2x SI:7 Agent - Great card for early board presence and removal. One of the best cards to combat opposing aggressive decks.
1x Assassin's Blade - The role of this card is kind of like a secondary win condition. Used with one Deadly Poison and you represent 20 damage which is quite strong especially against slower control style decks such as Warrior Control and Priest.
2x Azure Drake - Great card for most of the same reasons Bloodmage Thalnos is. This card has everything this deck wants Spell Power, Card draw, and a decent stats.
2x Gadgetzan Auctioneer - The centerpiece of the deck. The best and most important card. This card allows you to dig through most of your deck and gain a strong card advantage which will eventually find your win conditions.
1x Loatheb - Another survival card that has the added benefit of being a strong threat as well.
1x Malygos - One of the main win conditions of the deck. Sometimes you may want to save a preparation to use with a spell on the same turn you land a Malygos for the killing blow. This type of win condition can be useful because unlike the standard Miracle Rogue versions, you can ignore any Taunt walls your opponent manages to assemble.
Sap to be used as Innervate insurance. Generally, I just want some early minions and I will even keep some more expensive cards such as Gadgetzan Auctioneer or Azure Drake if the rest of my hand is decent. Just focus on controlling the board and always keep in mind how much damage they can do with Force of Nature and/or Savage Roar.
Hunter - This matchup is pretty even but if they get a good Undertaker start then it can be rough to keep up with them. Look for early removal options like Backstab, SI:7 Agent, Deadly Poison, and even Blade Flurry. Sap is important to save for Savannah Highmane if you think they are playing that card.
Mage - If they are aggressive then you just want early removal and cards that allow for board control. Try to out value them and don't worry about trying to race. Set up a good Loatheb supported by some Earthen Ring Farseers to help keep yourself out of reach. If they are a slower version of Mage, or a Freeze Mage variant, then it is a race. Pop their Ice Block as soon as possible and just try to kill them before they can draw their key cards.
Priest - Easy Matchups regardless of which version they are. If they are control then you have all the time in the world to set up. If they seem to be the more Deathrattle oriented build then just set up a nice Blade Flurry and they probably won't be able to come back from there.
Shaman - Another easy matchup where Blade Flurry shines. Keep in mind that Shamans usually don't run any heals so squeezing in damage can sometimes be worth it. The only card to be afraid of here is an early Doomhammer.
Warrior Control - Hard matchup for this version of Miracle Rogue because Malygos does not offer as much burst and is quite a bit slower compared to other Rogue versions. The way to beat a Warrior is to soften them up early with a steady string of early minions and then get some good value off Azure Drakes and Auctioneers. Eventually, you will win off of a Malygos kill or Assassin's Blade with Deadly Poison.
Zoo - A good matchup overall. Mulligan for Backstab, SI:7 Agent, Deadly Poison, and Blade Flurry: you should be fine.
Handlock - An awful matchup. Hope they have a bad draw and live long enough to set up a kill.
Paladin Control - Good matchup: they are really slow and give you all the time you need to set up a kill.
Miracle Rogue - Bad matchups since they are basically the same deck as you but faster. The reason to play Malygos version over the others is because it can be more consistent and attacks on multiple angles. Malygos is also indifferent towards Taunts.
